- On devait se rapprocher de la finale hier, mais le programme double entre Farnham et St-Jean a été contremandé en raison de la pluie. Un match, le 4e de la série, est prévu ce soir.
- La seule autre nouvelle du jour est que St-Jean pourrait perdre son frappeur vedette Frank Zachmann, qui doit retourner aux États-Unis pour son travail. Bonne nouvelle, j’ai finalement identifié Zachmann, il s’agit d’un athlète qui avait excellé au football, baseball, basketball et en athlétisme au secondaire à Long Island dans les années 30. Après un cours séjour à l’Université Fordham, il s’est retrouvé dans l’armée, et a joué dans des ligues semi-pro, autant au baseball qu’au football à son retour. Tragiquement, il est mort un an après son passage à St-Jean, dans un accident ferroviaire. Son profil a été publié récemment quand il a été élu au Temple de la Renommée des sports de Nassau County. Voir page 33. Sa photo semble être dans l’uniforme de St-Jean.

- We should be closer to to the final, but the doubleheader planned in the Farnham-St. Jean semifinal was rained out. One game, the 4th of the series, is planned for tonight.
- The only other news of the day is that St. Jean might lose its star hitter Frank Zachmann, who has to return to the United States for his job. Good news, I have finally identified Zachmann, he was a multi-sport athlete who excelled at football, baseball, basketball and track and field in Long Island in the 1930s. After a short stay at Fordham University, he joined the army, and playd semipro baseball and football when he came back. Tragically, he was killed a year after his stay in St. Jean in a train accident. His profile was recently published when he was elected to the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame. See page 33. His picture seems to be in the St. Jean uniform.
