- C’est dimanche en 1949, alors je me tourne vers les journaux hebdomadaires de St-Hyacinthe et St-Jean.
- De St-Hyacinthe émane une rumeur comme quoi le joueur de troisième-but Gene Nance reviendrait avec l’équipe. Celui a frappé pour .335 avec 14 circuits en 1948 est au camp des Alouettes de Québec de la CanAm, mais on tenterait de le ramener.
- On apprend aussi que l’équipe a signé le joueur de premier-but Leo Eastham, un vétéran des ligues de niveaux A et B.
- À St-Jean, on s’inquiète d’une rumeur comme quoi Alex Carrasquel, annoncé comme lanceur étoile, évolue pour un club mexicain.
- On annonce l’ajout du lanceur Jack Stanley, un droitier qu’on dit être le sosie de Jack Banta, qui vient de connaître une saison de 19 victoires avec les Royaux de Montréal.

- From St. Hyacinthe we have a rumor that third baseman Gene Nance would come back to the team. He hit .335 with 14 homeruns in 1948 and is in camp with the Quebec Alouettes of the CanAm League, but St. Hyacinthe is trying to convince him to come back.
- We also learn that the team has signed first-baseman Leo Eastham, a veteran of A and B leagues.
- In St. Jean, there are worries as reports surface of Alex Carrasquel, announced as the team’s ace pitcher, is with a Mexican team.
- Pitcher Jack Stanley, a righthander compared to Jack Banta, who just had a 19-win season with the Montréal Royals, was recently signed.
- Finally, utilityman Don Cheek what also added. Not much information on these two players.
